Obituary of Stephen Randall Gordon Walker

(Kendall)  Stephen R.G. Walker died unexpectedly on March 3, 2019 at his home.  He was born February 21, 1948 in Rochester to Helen and Harrison Walker and lived his life in the Kendall area.

An outdoorsman at heart, Steve graduated from Paul Smith’s College to begin work with the landscape crew of Davey Tree Service, there after employed by Eastman Kodak until his retirement.  When not hunting or fishing he was easily recognized by his well worn black cowboy hat.  He enjoyed sharing stories and a cup of his perfectly aged coffee with family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Melinda.  Steve is survived by his wife Nancy (Hurlbut) Walker; his sons Keith (Haley) Walker and Kirk (Kelly) Walker; daughter Kerrie (Zachary) Roach; grandchildren Layne, Leigha, Trent, Bryce, Kolbie and Rylee Walker, Zander and Emerson Roach; sister Cynthia (Lawrence) Kaleh; father-in-law Wallace Hurlbut; aunt Norma McLernon; canine companion Ruger as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Rte. 31 Holley on Wednesday March 6th from 3:00pm-6:00pm.  His Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00am at the Morton Baptist Church, 1152 County Line Rd., Hamlin NY 14464.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orleans County Animal Shelter, 4125 Oak Orchard Rd., Albion NY 14411 or to the organization of one’s choice.
