Obituary of Jean M. Kirby

Albion: Jean M. Kirby, age 94, passed away on August 9, 2017 at the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence. She was born in Little Falls, NY on June 20, 1923 to the late Vincent and Charlotte (Staring) Miller.

Jean was an active member of the St. Joseph’s Church, the Catholic Daughters, and spent time working with the sisters. She taught at St. Joseph’s School and worked as a substitute teacher at Albion High School. Jean worked for Cornell Cooperative Extension for a number of years. She was an avid downhill skier, and enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking and canning as well. Jean was a good friend to many and was always willing to help out in any way that she could.

In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2005, daughter, Barbara, grandson, Kevin Klump, and brother, Donald Miller.

Jean is survived by her children, Tom (Jackie) Kirby of Albion, Pat (Greg) Macey of Buffalo, Robin (Norris) Klump of MI, James (Julie) Kirby of Albion, Donald Kirby of Albion, grandchildren, Josh (Rebecca) Kirby, Patrick Kirby, Erin Ward, Kailee Ward, Karen (Josh) Narburgh, Chrissy Macey, Jennifer (Jonathan) DeMeis, Ryan (Jenna) Klump, Erin (Chris) Carr, Shawna (Richard) Maez, Adam (Kelly) Kirby, Christopher Kimmerle, Charlie Neito, 18 great-grandchildren, son-in-law, John Kimmerle, sisters-in-law, Betty Kirby, Betty Ann Kenyon, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours. Jean’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish/St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday, August 31st at 10:00am.

Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
