Obituary of Lyell Colburn

Kendall/Hamlin:  Lyell John Colburn, 93, passed away Sunday morning, January 21, 2018 at The Oaks at Whitaker Glen. He was born in Orleans County, NY to the late Eugene Rudolph Colburn and Louise Fretag Colburn.

Mr. Colburn was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Hamlin Post 6703 Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Lyell was a supervisor for many years with Duffy-Motts.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Richard E. Colburn, brothers, Herbert Colburn and Bernard Colburn.

Mr. Colburn is survived by his children, Donna (Fred) Tucker of Rolesville, NC, Lyell T. Colburn of Rolesville, NC and Lisa (Ed) Kennedy of Kent, NY; grandchildren, Tamera Tucker, David Todd Schmeer, Tracie Schmeer, Justin Colburn, Sunni Colburn, Michael Kennedy, Andrew Kennedy and Tia Kennedy; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday January 26, at the Merrill Grinnell Funeral Home, 12 Ingersoll St., Albion, NY. Burial will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery in the spring.
