Obituary of George A. Smith

George A. Smith age 75 died suddenly on Saturday April 14, 2018 at his home.  He was born October 12, 1942 in PA, a son of the late George Smith and June Hildreth, and had lived in this area most of his life.

George was a member of the Oak Orchard Assembly of God in Medina.  He was an avid hunter and a collector of guns.  He enjoyed cooking.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Sally Ayers; his brothers Eddie Smith, Glen Smith and Dennis Smith; step-brothers Pete Simpson, Donald Simpson.  He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bernice; his daughter Julie Bower of NC; his son George (Carol) Smith, Jr. of OR; step-children Kevin Knapp of Albion, Lisa (Tim) Jurhs of Kendall; grandchildren Harry Bower, Damian Jost, Brandi Leccese, Peter Kohut, Olivia (Jared) Hurley, Ava Kohut; great-grandchildren Aryan Bower, Madelyn Bower, Sabella Leccese, Milania Hurley, Audriana Hurley; brothers Rick (Amy) Smith of PA, Kirk (Linda) Smith of Watkins Glen, Harry (Tina) Smith of Horseheads; step-sister Beverly (Ron) Cervoni; step-brothers Ronald Simpson and Joe Simpson as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

The family will receive friends at the Oak Orchard Assembly of God, 12111 Ridge Rd., Medina NY 14103 on Saturday April 28th from 11:00am-12:00pm where his Memorial Service will follow at 12:00pm.  Memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice.
