Obituary of Mary Jane Marek

Mary Jane “Peggy” Marek, passed away peacefully May 23, 2018. 

She was born in Albion January 13, 1929 to Lloyd and Alma (Carlson) Kuhn and was a lifetime resident of this area. 

She enjoyed a long career as a school bus driver for Albion Centrals Schools and was a volunteer on the “Newsletter Crew” for Hospice of Orleans.  In addition, she loved to garden and watch the birds in her backyard.  Mary Jane was known for lighting up a room with her smile. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Julius, her daughter Willa and her brothers: Lloyd Jr., Arnold “Jake” and Clark Kuhn. 

She is survived by her three sons: Ronald, James, and Daniel (Denise Beardsley) Marek, her four daughters: Priscilla (Anthony) Piazza, Julie Marek, Paula (Jeff) Christie and Laura (Kevin Kaderli) Marek, four grandchildren: Shellise and Bethany Piazza, Jessica (Jay) Hanna and Lee Marek, her sister: Loraine Yungfleisch and sisters-in-law: Mary Kuhn and Gloria Kuhn as well as several nieces and nephews, and special great grandchildren: Lily Ana, Kaleb, Lorilye, Mazalyn, and Juniper Beardsley. 

There will be no prior calling hours.  Her burial will take place in Mount Albion Cemetery at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice or Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY, 14411 or to a charity of your choice.
