Obituary of Susan J. Pearson

(Gasport)

Susan J. Pearson, age 81, passed away June 24, 2018 at Elderwood at Lockport following a brief illness.

She was born to George and Augusta (Maron) Schielke and had lived in this area all of her life.

Susan, also known as The Kite Lady and the owner of The Country Cottage Bed and Breakfast, enjoyed her travel career, escorting groups on vacations all over the world.  She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and extended family; especially at Thanksgiving.  Susan spent hours giving to others; serving on many boards and committees at church, local travel and tourism agencies, Zonta Club and Literacy Volunteers. 

She was a long time donor of her plasma to manufacture Rhogam; she has literally saved thousands of babies. She was a woman of faith who loved Elvis, making kites, collecting treasures from her travels, hosting guests at her bed and breakfast and spending time with her friends. Susan was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. 

She is survived by her son, Eric (Tammy Amaroso) Pearson of AZ, her daughter, Pamela (Scott) Brauer of Gasport, sister-in-law, Frances Schielke and her beloved grandchildren, Maron (Eric) Barraclough, Luke (Devyn Wolfle) Brauer, Savannah and Mackenzie Pearson, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

The family will be available to share memories on Saturday August 18th from 11-12 at the Covenant United Church of Christ, 4449 Main Street, Gasport, NY 14067 followed immediately by a Celebration of Susan's Life at 12 noon.  Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Acacia Park Cemetery.
