Obituary of Cecil J. Moore

(CLARENDON)

Cecil J. Moore, age 82, died at home 8/4/2018 following a brief illness. 

He was born 4/26/1936 in Clarendon to Cecil H. and Jessie (Davis) Moore and had been a lifetime resident of this area.  Cecil retired in 1993 after 30 years of service as a machinist for Rochester Products.  He was a charter member of the Clarendon Fire Company and loved learning about the history of Clarendon and the surrounding area.  In addition to being a NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan, Cecil enjoyed playing golf, scratch-off lottery tickets, and family gatherings. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as he was truly a man who cherished family values. 

Mr. Moore was predeceased by his parents, brothers: Ron and Kip Moore and his daughter, Brenda McMillan. 

He is survived by his darling wife of 62 years Mary Lou, his daughters: Nina (Randy) Gurnsey of Barre, Kathy (Jim) Swabb of Clarendon, Diann (Ray) Hillabush of Clarendon, his brothers: David (Becky) Moore of Holley, Robert Moore of Rochester, son-in-law: Robert McMillan, sisters: Colleen Sauro of Holley, Zola Smith of Albion, Frieda Sabo of Barre, Vera (John) Kingdollar of Albion, Betty Fulks of Albion, Bernice Smith of Albion, Sandy (Jerry) Kozlowski of Clarendon, 8 grandchildren: Justin, Sheena, Mindy, Brandon, Tammie, Lindsay, Craig, Dylan, 6 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. 

There will be no prior calling hours.  Family and friends are invited to gather at Hillside Cemetery on Saturday August 11th at 11:00 a.m. for a Graveside Service honoring Cecil. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clarendon Fire Company, 16169 E. Lee Rd., Holley, NY, 14470.
