Obituary of Norman J. McDonald

Medina:  Norman J. McDonald, 83, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2018.  He was born April 22, 1935 in Potsdam, NY a son of the late Flora Normand and John McDonald.  At age 17, Norman joined the United States Marine Corp. and is a Korean War Veteran.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and was an avid card player.

Norman was predeceased by his soulmate of 51 years, Lottie McDonald, his son, Theodore Owen McDonald and 1 grandchild.

Norman is survived by his children, Norman D. McDonald, Calvin McDonald, Kevin (Rhea) McDonald, Roy McDonald, Collen (Mike) Heitzenrater, Sheila (Eric) Smolinski, Kimberly (Andrew) Gioeli and Wayne (Pamela) McDonald.  He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service with military honors, at his final resting place beside the love of his life, Lottie McDonald at Hartland Cemetery, Ridge Rd. Gasport on Friday November 9, at 11:00am

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Norman’s name can be made to Disabled Veterans Batavia, #166, 222 Richmond Ave, Batavia, NY 14020.
