Obituary of Rowland H. Jacobs

Middleport: Rowland H. Jacobs, age 84, passed away on December 16, 2018 at the Niagara Hospice House. He was born December 14, 1934 in Lockport to the late Norman and Alice (Kohler) Jacobs.

Rowland and his late wife Audrey enjoyed spending time traveling together and spending the winters in Lakeland, FL for many years. He worked for Frontier Stone before working for GM. Rowland was an exempt member of the Terry’s Corners Fire Dept. since 1991 where he was also Past Chief. He was also one of the founding members of the Niagara County Fire Police.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Audrey in 2012.

Rowland is survived by his sons, James (Mary Ellen) Jacobs of Middleport, Jeff (Darcy) Jacobs of Wilson, Gerald “Jake” (Roxanne) Jacobs of Middleport, grandchildren, Christopher, Brianna, Ciara and Andrew Jacobs, as well as great-grandsons, Logan and Levi.

The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport, NY 14105 on Sunday, December 23rd from 4:00-7:00pm where his memorial service will be held immediately following at 7:00pm.
