Obituary of Shirley M. Benedict

Kendall:  Shirley M. Benedict, 70, passed away February 10, 2019 at Elderwood at Lakeside in Brockport. She was born November 29, 1948 in Albion, a daughter of the late John D. Jett Sr. and Glenna M. (Baker) Jett.  Shirley was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed feeding them.  She loved her cat and could make awesome sausage gravy.  Shirley will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a devoted wife.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold Jett Sr. and Richard “Rick” Jett.  She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard; sons, Orin (Rachel Renko) Benedict and Richard (Sarah Bohn) Benedict; grandsons, Brenden, Caleb and Patrick; great-granddaughter, Coraline; siblings, Jim (Ardith) Jett, John (Pat) Jett, Rose Hall, Sue (Steve) Fearing, Ed (Jacquie) Jett; sister-in-law, Virginia Jett; several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Shirley’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Friday February 15, at 11:00am.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
