Obituary of Elizabeth P. Westlund

Elizabeth P. Westlund age 70 died unexpectedly on March 7, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 23, 1948 in Albion, a daughter of the late Dominic and Rose (Salemi) Pellegrino and had lived in this area all of her life.

Liz was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Catholic Daughters.  She had worked for many years as the Director of Medicaid at Orleans County Department of Social Services and retired in 2004.  She was an avid Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.  She enjoyed her monthly lunches with her retired co-workers and friends but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandkids.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Lisa.  Liz is survived by her son Tim (Nancy) Westlund of Albion; grandchildren Kendra, Dominic, Patrick; her brother Peter (Diane) Pellegrino of Brockport as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Sunday March 10th from 1:00pm-5:00pm where prayers will be recited Monday at 9:30am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O.
