Obituary of Dorothy C. Baehr

Middleport:  Dorothy C. Baehr, 80, passed away April 1, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 3, 1938 in Lockport to Melvin and Ellen (Peterson) Engert.  Dorothy was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and a life member of the Terrys Corners Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers as well as playing cards and travelling to Florida every winter.  Dorothy was a great socializer and enjoyed entertaining her friends and family.  She loved her family to no end and anyone who spent time with her knows that Christmas was her favorite time of year.

Mrs. Baehr was predeceased by her husband, Charles, 2 brothers, James and Daniel.  She is survived by her son, Douglas Baehr of Gasport; daughters, Jane (Robert) Stanley of Middleport and Linda (Michael) Drum of Gasport; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Shirley) Engert of Newfane, Richard (Camella) Engert of Rochester; sister, Joan (Gordon) Martin of Akron and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport, Thursday April 4, from 4:00-8:00.  Dorothy’s Funeral Service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Rd. Middleport, NY 14105 on Friday April 5, at 10:00am.  Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.  To share a special memory of Dorothy, please visit www.bateswallace.com
