I just became aware of Hazel's passing. I know how hard this must be for you all. She was one in a million for sure. I'm sure she's in God's arms and with so many loved ones in heaven. It was a privilege to know her. Prayers for your family. God bless you and comfort you. With love, Darlene

When I married Mark, I received the wonderful bonus of his family. His maternal grandparents were among the biggest charmers. Upon meeting them I remarked that George Lake was 'nice looking'. He excitedly repeated it to his wife, "Did you hear that Hazel?", and she goes on to get in a good natured jab to shut him down. At every event, she would hug and kiss me, saying "I always liked you, from the first time I saw you." She had the best sense of humor and would have us in hysterics over her banter with her youngest son. I lost both of my biological grandmothers when I was too young to remember them. How lucky I was to get over 20 years with this amazing lady.

We were saddened to hear of Aunt Hazel's passing. She was such a nice person and she always inspired me to be better than what I was. She was kind and gentle and I don't think that I ever remember hearing her speak badly of anyone. She loved her family more than anything and was always very proud of her children and grandchildren. Although she was a quiet and humble person her actions spoke volumes to me. When I was a child my Uncle George and Aunt Hazel would visit us and whenever they came, they always had a coin ready to slip into my small hand when nobody was looking. I know coins weren't very plentiful back then and I will always remember and appreciate their kindness and their generosity. Nancy and I share our condolences with all of her family and loved ones. She will be missed by many.
