To the entire Hanes family,
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I remember Floyd from his days as a student at HCS when I served as a member of the BOE. I will also always remember the 1994 State title run and the hard play from Floyd. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

To Floyd's Family,
I knew Floyd through Young Explosives. We worked together for several years on many of the same shows. We both had similar interest in Mustang's and hot rods in general, and would talk often about the details of each others cars. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about his endeavors distilling spirits. I was always fascinated with his level of expertise and knowledge about many things. I always came away thinking, that's an intelligent man.
I am truly saddened to hear of Floyd's passing. I will think of Floyd often and miss him terribly.
I am sorry for your loss. Your pain must be immense.
All my best.
John Barnes

You will be and already missed! A lot of people enjoyed your company and smile. For some reason I called you Floydian but you never told me not to so I guess you didn't mind. You got what it meant though. My sincerest condolences to your close family and friends.

Floyd was a great friend with his infectious smile and happy nature. He was never in a bad mood and was slow to anger. I remember him to be smart, kind, funny, talented and extremely well liked and admired. I can still see him in his soccer uniform running down the field, his presence on the field was a force to be reckoned with. I know that God will receive such a peaceful and beautiful soul into heaven and one day we will meet again.
Father please receive Floyd into your glorious kingdom and uplift his loved ones with your strength and grace. May they be comforted with memories of Floyd and know that he is living eternally in heaven with you.
Rest in peace dearest friend, your spirit remains in the lives of those who were blessed enough to know or meet you. Your gentleness and smile brought light and love to us all.
Amen

Uncle Carl and Aunt Kim -
I remember so fondly the summer visits we shared when I was a kid. Floyd was my first (and only) older cousin, and I looked up to him so, enamored with his wisdom and soccer skills. We've kept up with each other online over the years, sharing what's been going on in our lives, new ideas for the future and more. I really hoped we'd be able to get together sometime soon. So sad that it never happened and devastated for you. His love, goodness and warmth will stay with all of us he's touched. Sending love to you at this very difficult time.

Floyd was always in our lives for some reason or another. To say that he made our lives a better place would be an understatement.
The love that my girls felt for him was always present, even miles away.
Floyd always made the people he cared about know they were his number 1.
If you need anything ask. ... life will be too quiet without Floyd around.

Dear Kim and Karl:
Floyd was my son Ben's best friend. Therefore, I got to know him well. He was always polite and friendly whenever he was around the family which was quite often for birthday parties, wedding and other things. He was was like a brother to Ben. He will be forever in our hearts. My heart goes out to you and I pray for you at this horribly sad time in your life. I will never forget that beautiful smile.

I was so very sorry to learn of Floyd’s untimely passing. I will remember him as a young man who was always polite & courteous. When the kids were in school, he would always address me as “Mr. Smith”, which of course wasn’t necessary but that was Floyd, always respectful. And that politeness carried into his adulthood.
My sincerest condolences to his family. Smitty.

I remember holding you in my arms when you were only days old. It seems like only yesterday. I was fifteen years old. You were just six years old clowning around as we took a walk through Letchworth Park. You always brought laughter and made us smile. I also remember you and Richard spending weekends at Grandpa and Grandma Hanes; what a time we had. I am so glad we were able to stay in touch over the years and the conversations we had only weeks ago. We will miss you dearly.
