Obituary of Peter E. Allen

Barre:  Peter E. Allen, 78, passed away May 25, 2019 at Rochester General Hospital.  He was born September 8, 1940 in Batavia, a son of the late Leon and Grace (Peters) Allen.  Peter was a 1958 graduate of Albion High School and served his country in the United States Army.  He was a former employee of Freeman’s Cycle Ranch and retired from the Orleans County Highway Department.  Peter started motorcycle racing at an early age and was a very active life member of the Crusaders Motorcycle Club.  He enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of motorcycles with several generations, especially with the Standish and Hazel families with whom he traveled throughout the United States and Canada.  Peter touched many lives and will be remembered by many in the racing circuit.  When Peter wasn’t busy with racing he enjoyed N.A.S.C.A.R.

He is survived by his brother, William (Donna) Allen; his H.A.S. family; Leon & Deloris Standish, Kevin & Dawn Hazel, Dean & Cyndy Standish, Brandi & Jeremy DiMatteo, Bryan Hazel, Brad & Amy Hazel, Trevor Standish, Jace & Braelyn DiMatteo, Aviannah Hughson, Brody & Bryson Hazel; 3 nieces and many friends.

 A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Saturday August 17, at Millville Cemetery (E. Shelby Rd.) at 12:00.  A Celebration of Pete’s Life will follow at (The Hazels) 13228 Otter Lane, Albion beginning at 2:00pm.  Peter’s arrangements have been entrusted to Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, NY.
