Obituary of Dan C. Acchione

Greece:  Age, 94, passed away suddenly, 9/6/2019. Dan was born in 1925 in Albion, NY a son of the late Dan & Sylvia (Monacelli) Acchione. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during WW II in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Heroic achievement in connection with operation against Japanese forces as a company Radio Operator on Okinawa Shima Ryukyus Islands in 1945 and received a Purple Heart having been wounded in action on June 10, 1945.  Dan was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Rochester and the American Legion.

Dan was predeceased by several half brothers & sisters and his wife Sue in 1998.  He is survived by his loving wife, Carm & several nieces & nephews.

No prior calling hours.  Dan’s Mass will be held Wednesday 9/11/19 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 W. Ridge Rd. Rochester.  Entombment will follow with military honors at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Assoc.
