I knew "Heavy" from many years ago when he would unload boxes of apples from my truck at Duffy-Mott Co in Hamlin. He always had a quiet smile, didn't say too much but was always friendly. I also would often see him fishing at Point Breeze and would visit with him there. Heavy never mentioned family or much about himself. I wish I had known he was a veteran, as four of my children are, we would have had more to talk about.
I am deeply sorry to learn he was at the Villages and I didn't even know it--I would have visited him there..
Thank you for your service to our country Heavy, may you rest in peace.
