Obituary of Emmeritt Smith
(Medina) Emmeritt (Massey) Smith age 72 died unexpectedly September 27, 2019 at her home. She was born April 18, 1947 in Clayton AL, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Cowart) Griffin and had lived in this area since 1976.
Emmeritt retired from Medina Memorial Hospital in 2008. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, garage sales, her dogs Taz, Molly, Lu Lu and Lady, but most importantly she loved having fun.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband General Massey; her 2nd husband Clayborn Smith; sisters Corine Griffin, Virginia Griffin, Polly Griffin and Georgia Fenn; her brothers Fred Griffin and Charlie Griffin. She is survived by her sisters Ruth Freeman, Queen Stevens, Minnie Holt, Lillian Young, Barbara (Billy) Witherspoon as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no prior calling hours. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday October 4th at 3:00pm at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion. Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
