Obituary of Skip Brien

(Holley) Skip Brien age 63 died March 15, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was surrounded by his family. Skip was born October 4, 1956 in Clarkson NY, a son of the late Gilbert I. Brien and had lived in this area most of his life. Skip was a happy go lucky guy who loved to party, cook, animals, hanging out with friends; but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was known as “number one hippy” and loved his long hair and tie dye. He was a handy man and was always willing to help people in need and considered himself a jack of all trades. Skip is survived by Mary Dewey, his loving companion of 28 years; his daughters Paige (AJ) Brien, Tia (Richy) Brien; loving granddaughter Kori; sister Sheila (Duke) Burnett; brothers Scott (Kelly) Brien, Michael (Stephanie) Baldwin; niece Dani (Todd) Watkins; great-nephew Brandon Watkins; great-niece Alli Watkins as well as several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. There are no prior calling hours. His celebration of life service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave. Rochester NY 14642. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Holley.
