Obituary of Howard R. Thorne

Clarendon: Howard R. Thorne, 74, passed away May 1, 2020 at The Villages of Orleans. He was born August 2, 1945 in Rochester a son of the late Lester and Elsie Thorne. Howard served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a member and Past Chief of the Clarendon Fire Company and drove School Bus for Brockport Schools after retiring from Eastman Kodak Co. Howard attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hamlin. He loved fishing, camping and visiting Virginia Beach and Goose Creek SC. He is survived by his wife Margaret of 55 years; children, Glenn (Lori) Thorne of Clarendon, Kelly (Chris) Warner of PA., Charlie Thorne of AZ., Patty Thorne of Avon; grandchildren, Maya and Cody Thorne; brothers, Hugh and Bobby; sisters, Ginny, Joanie and Penny; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Colin and Fran and sister,Connie. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Clarendon Fire Co., P.O. Box 136, Clarendon, NY 14429 or the Alzheimer’s Association 435 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14620.
