Though I didn't know Joe real well, he was a great neighbor. Always wearing a smile, his ever-present friendliness and kindness will always be remembered by us. His amazing drive in his older years was a tribute to Joe's positive attitude toward life and "can do" spirit. Always offering kind words to people he met and wise advice when asked, Joe put others before himself.
Yes he will be missed by us. But we are only a couple of the hundreds - maybe thousands - that knew and appreciate Joe as kind an caring man.
Our sincere condolences to Grace and the rest of his family.

I can still remember when I first met Joe. I was on my way home from work and coming into Brockport when I saw a car along side of the road and Joe, whom I did not know at the time but had seen near the place that I and my wife had recently bought on S Manning Rd. He had run out of gas, and that was the beginning of a cherished friendship. As a Army Vet myself, Joe and I had common ground and a bond that only other vets can understand. Some things can be shared with other vets that other people will never hear. In the later years I would drive Joe to his appointments and usually go to breakfast on the way home. He would often share stories of his service with me.He would take me on side trips to see where he had built homes in his earlier years. Often he would call to ask for help with things around the house. One day I got a call from his wife Grace, asking if I could come up and give Joe a hand. We had a good laugh, for there sat Joe on the ground leaning up against his lawn mower just smiling. I picked him up and all was well again. He would give one the shirt of his back. Sure will be missed and I am sure blessed to have known him and his family.

Dear Grace,Vinessa, Matt and all who loved Joe,
I was a professor of Joe’s at SUNY Brockport. His advisor made him take Women & Criminal Justice with me, a feminist criminologist, to broaden his perspectives. What a character! Joe sat in the front row, was quickly the class leader and my obvious “teacher’s pet”, which his classmates encouraged. Watching him graduate and meeting his beautiful Italian family is still one of the highlights of my career and life. My heart hurts for all of you as you say “goodbye” to Joe, as he is leaving a big gap in the physical universe. You have one powerful angel now.
Love, peace and strength,
~<3~ Christine Plumeri

It is so sad to have to finally say goodbye to my amazing Uncle Joe Andreano. His zest for living a long full life was realized, when he did live to see his 101st birthday on May 16th. He died peacefully at home, from natural causes, surrounded by his beloved wife, Aunt Grace (Age 98), & his loving, devoted Home Health Caregivers . . .Angie Nobles, Mary Spence. He made his final journey home on May 18th to be with the Lord in Heaven, where he is now reunited with his 6 other sibling brothers. My heart knows they are now happy, singing & harmonizing together once again, as he eloquently wrote in his book titled “We Seven”. There are not enough words to adequately express, my families love & appreciation, for the daily 24/7 continued love & care, given to both my Uncle Joe & Aunt Grace, by their Home Health Caregivers. . .Mary Spence, Angie Nobles & Della Fisher. A deep thank you also to my two cousins Liz & Vinessa (their daughters), who alternate coming monthly, traveling from their out of state homes in Seattle & Oregon, to help care for them too. Many thank you’s to Judi Dana (Niece), who continues going above & beyond in visiting & loving them, with her Dad & Mom. Also, thank you to their many caring neighbors, who are always ready & able to assist them when ever needed. Yes, it often does take a “village” to help care for our elderly loved ones. The Andreano family has been very blessed & extremely thankful for this “village” of help. God’s blessings to all of you. With love & friendship, always Marilyn. (Niece)
R.I.P. Uncle “Hobo”Joe. You have made an amazing difference in the lives of all that know you. Kudos for a long life well lived & for your courage, strength, tenacity, creativity, intelligence, determination, love, humor, awareness, & continued seeking out knowledge, education & artistic talents (Creative writing, piano playing & painting beautiful artwork), right up to the end of your amazing long life. You are greatly loved & missed for the rest of our eternity. . . Until we meet again.

What a great man
He would always come to buy garlic and I would never take his money. We would sit and talk about his ww2 experiences because i am so interested in ww2 history
He always took the time with me. Men like Joe are the salt of the earth, the fabric of this great nation we live in. A true hero was lost the day Joe passed away. May God Bless his family with peace.
