Orleans County has lost a true servant leader. Ed was usually the smartest guy in the room, but his quiet humility and willingness to get his hands dirty helping others had a way of making that fact less obvious.
Personally, I will fondly remember trying to keep up with Eddie as he flew as close to the sun as possible without getting burned (usually!) while we were growing up on Lime Kiln Road.
To Chris and the kids, and to Sandy, Sue, Gail, and Billy - please accept my heartfelt condolences.

So sorry for cousin Chrissy and Family. He was one of the most caring, loving, people I’ve ever met. He was a true gentleman. Ed’s sarcastic wit was contagious. I loved our conversations over a beer with Ed, myself and Uncle Wally. My heart goes out to Uncle Wally, as they were best friends. I am definitely a better person for knowing Ed Fancher, and to call him my cousin, even if only by marriage. Aunt Gina and Uncle Wally lost a great son-in-law. Chrissy lost a great husband, and the kids lost a great dad. The community will miss him greatly. So will I.

May his family find peace remembering all the love he had for them. There was never a time when we passed that he did not mention something grand adventure he had with his kids or grandkids. Ed loved with all his heart and served with a compassion few people are made of.

Ed was a wonderful voice of wisdom. Always so thoroughly prepared, thoughful, and profoundly good. I never questioned his judgement or his insights, I could trust Ed implicitly. Ed was so giving of his talents and goodness to help those around him. I pray that his family is blessed and comforted in their loss with the knowledge that many many people also feel a deep mourning at the passing of this man. I pray that God would please help each of us become a little better, wiser, and concerned for others; to somehow fill the void created as Ed left this world to Heaven's embrace. The eternal honor and grace that awaits him I am sure will be of the brightest light and most peaceful joy. What a good man.
