I did not know Ray Neff, but wish that I had. Never have I read such a thoughtful, interesting and honest tribute. You are lucky to have had such a father and he, lucky to have had you. Strong, independent, resilient people seem to have become a minority; but they are the folks that I most admire. I wish you and your family well and think you might consider becoming a writer. I did not know your dad but this tribute brought tears to my eyes. He was a special man and I can tell he was loved by his family. My grandmother was from West Virginia. There was pride in their hard work and they cherished the simple things.
I pray you find comfort and peace in the wonderful memories of your Dad. Thank you for sharing.

I did not know Ray, although I may well have bought tomatoes from him at a market. I just wanted to say that this is one of the most beautiful obituaries I've ever read. I hope Ray knew how very much he was loved and appreciated. God rest his soul in peace and comfort all of you, left behind, who loved him so.
