To the family of Mr. Lyndaker,
I was in FFA with Mr. Lyndaker in 1972 and his mentor- ship has remained a part of me ever since. I remember the first time I had to make a speech in his class and my notecards got out of order, I got flustered and did not do very well . Afterwards, Mr. Lyndaker was very supportive and encouraging to me since At that age, ‘Messing up’ In front of your peers was quite a Big deal and very traumatic. Even with that set back I went on to win the star green hand award that year which to this day I count as a very special accomplishment!
I am now an adjunct professor and someone who feels confident speaking in front of groups, in part due to the kindness and non-judge-mental reaction of Mr. Lyndaker and his ability to instill confidence and self-esteem in his students. I see many others who have had the same experience.
I join you in celebrating his life and legacy!

To Mrs. Lyndaker and all Harvey's FAMILY, Mr Lyndaker was respected and revered by my wrestling friends and brothers- Rob, Richard, Chris and the rest of us who knew him especially at MHS. My family still enjoys our AllisG tractor he and his Ag students restored for our Dad, and my family now lives near Cornell because Harvey encouraged Rob to go there. He was always a smiling positive influence on us all !!! THANK YOU HARVEY! To all his family, may your best warm memories of him keep his spirit with you all , always! You all take care!! Best wishes, ward crafts

My oldest brother Robert introduced me to Coach Lyndaker his senior year in Medina High. I know he was recruiting me to join the JV team in 1962 and now after seeing Penny Saver obits.several days ago I saw three obits of Harvey's and a fellow JV wrestler, and Roger a senior in 1962, additional death notices. I never made the sectionals as my old Jeddo friend Mike C. did but I do remember the swetty matches with Mike and Don Harmer in those daily grueling practices.
I have kept occasional store" acquaintence conversations," with Harvey as he live down the road and I have years of Master Gardening joy and toil along with questions of our familiar past in so many interests.
I regret making that "surprise birthday party" for both coaches a couple of years ago when Janet invited me. I want to apologize to Janet as Harvey like so many teachers I knew from both Medina and Royhart (I student taught with Walter Kaz in 1969 in Royhart) but never taught again after leaving state service in 1980. However I always complimented and encouraged those teacher acquaintaince,s upon meeting, of their proffession'.s importance. All teachers,especially successful and respected like Harvey. He gave and dedicated hours of VERY hard commitment to those young and growing adolescent children.
Harvey met his goals in my estimation. He always portrayed confidence and skepticism a balance of wise commentary that I always welcomed as he surely was one of OUR generation's "Best" role models. Goodbye till we meet again.... Sincerely, Dick Crafts , weight class 180 now till the day I die! Peace to ALL!

Below is a Native American Prayer...author unknown.
Harvey was an outdoors person who loved nature.
To me, the poem speaks to Harvey's innate personality.
************************************************
I give you this one thought to keep---
I am with you still---I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush;
I am the sweet uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone---
I am with you still in each new dawn.

Harvey was the first man to give me an equal shot at success as my male peers in FFA and Agriculture class. He helped me find confidence, become a public speaker, and find a love for presenting demonstrations on various farm related topics. He built up my self-esteem to afford me the privilege of serving in an officer position in FFA. These leadership skills followed me throughout my adult life, thank you Harvey, I have always tried to follow your lead. Forever grateful you were in my life.

Harv,
Over the next few weeks there will be many stories told of your kindness and of course you sense of humor. But right now I just miss my friend and want to keep those memories close. So keep the coffee on and save me a donut, until we can laugh together again.
