Obituary of Sally M. Rytlewski

Albion: Sally M. (Carlo) Rytlewski passed peacefully at her daughter and son-in-law’s home on November 14, 2020. She was born May 22, 1935 in Holley, NY to Angeline (Sabella) Gifaldi and John Carlo. Sally grew up in Holley and graduated from Holley High School in 1953. After graduation she worked for Western Union as a telephone operator. She married Louis J. Rytlewski Jr. (Louie Wright) on May 21, 1960 and moved to Albion. Sally worked as a payroll bookkeeper for many local businesses. She was a member of Holy Family Parish serving over the years as the Director of Religious Education, Lector, Eucharistic Minister and (her favorite) singing in the church choir. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, having held many local, state and national offices. She was an avid follower of politics on all levels, enjoyed cooking, bowling, travelling and being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Louie and son Scott, her brothers Alfred, Carmine, Patrick and Americo (Chipper) Gifaldi, her sisters Mary Mignano, Grace Cook, Edith Charles, Jenny Gifaldi, Josephine Schulte, and Angeline Lusk. Sally is survived by her daughter Joanne (David) Heminway, granddaughter Stephanie (Adam) Brownfeld, her great-grandson Nathaniel Metzler and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Sally’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church, W. Park St., Albion on Thursday November 19, at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489 Albion, NY 14411 or Prince of Peace Abbey (Rev.
