Obituary of Shirley J. Smith

Waterport:  Shirley J. Smith, 83, passed away peacefully February 27, 2018.  She was born September 18, 1934 in Albion, a daughter of the late Glen Hoag and Katherine (Hughson) Fox and her step-father, the late Harold Fox.  Shirley was a life member of the Albion First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed golf, square dancing, bowling and vacations, however, Shirley’s greatest love was spending time with her family and home.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest in 2003.  She is survived by her loving children, Gary (Ruth) Smith, Greg (Linda) Smith, Guy (Sue) Smith and Gail (C.J.) Warne; adoring grandchildren, Jaime (Michael) Beach, Peter (Katie) Smith, Missy (John) Gailie, Ryan (Krysondra Esposito) Smith, Jack Smith, Bobby (Mindy) Warne, Cassie Warne, Johnathan Warne, Aryal Smith, Amber Smith, Miranda Smith and 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, William (Virginia) Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Sunday March 4, from 1:00-5:00.  Shirley’s Funeral Service will be held at the Albion First Baptist Church, 30 W. Park St. Albion, NY on Monday March 5, at 1:00pm.  Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Albion First Baptist Church.
